Clinical Performance Target (CPT) Program
Philosophy
The Professional Medical Corporation and Hurley Medical Center is a dedicated healthcare delivery system that is responsible for facilitating the achievement of excellence in patient care throughout Genesee, Lapeer, and Shiawasee Counties. The PMC's CPT program embodies our system’s commitment to continually improve the care provided to patients and their families. We believe physicians can provide the most effective care when they apply evidence-based quality standards to timely, relevant and patient-specific information. Hurley system and affiliated physicians supports these standards of care through a wide range of data sharing and professional development via one-on-one healthcare management education visits.
Structure of the CPT Program
The Professional Medical Corporation [pay-for-performance] Clinical Performance Target (CPT) program is in its eighth year. It is a physician-driven program, incorporating clinical practice guidelines adopted by Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium (MQIC), HEDIS measures as used by NCQA, recommendations by professional organizations such as the American Academies, NIH, and others. Each year, the PMC Board and Medical Management Committee reviews and updates the metrics of the CPT program in accordance with new recommendations and guidelines. Each measure is weighed and assigned a value, with new measures and aggressive target outcomes being assigned a “bonus” status.
