Our quality laboratory service is available to Physicians in their own practice locations as well as to Extended Care Facilities, Assisted Living Centers, and Nursing Homes. Our primary goal for the laboratory outreach program is customer service.

HPMS Laboratory Outreach Services is responsible for the operations of the Hurley Laboratory Outreach program. We maintain several laboratory service centers throughout Genesee County that provide convenient access for our customers to have their blood tests collected. The Hurley Medical Center Laboratory is a modern full service clinical laboratory performing 2.9 million tests per year with a staff of 81 full-time and 14 part-time employees and four board-certified pathologists. It is the largest automated facility for clinical and pathology testing in the area.


We coordinate all aspects of laboratory services including: marketing, customer service, specimen pick up, report delivery, supplies delivery, billing and patient registration in order to assure that our client's laboratory services are being performed to exceed their expectations. The following are some of the value-added services that are  provided as a part of our Lab Outreach Program:

• Membership in the Joint Venture Hospital Laboratory (JVHL)
•  A participating "Plus Lab" with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
• Courier Services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Stat Pick-Ups upon request, with results available within 4 hours of request. Routine testing will be completed in 24 hours, in most cases.
• Laboratory Supplies furnished at no charge.
• Customized Test Profiles
• Convenient Patient Service Center - Six locations
• Electronic reporting via fax, in-office printer, courier or internet.
• Interface with WellCentive Disease Registry for instant access to lab results within the patient record.
